The Largo Caballero Foundation has published on its Twitter account (@largocaballerof) a writing by Sonia Largo Valcarce , granddaughter of Francisco Largo Caballero, addressed to the mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, following the revelation of some images in which sees the plaque tribute to the historic socialist leader completely destroyed, which has been removed from the Plaza de Chamberí by order of the government team of the Madrid City Council. Marble plaque tribute to FLCThese images were released this week by UGT, which announced a complaint for these events, as we reported in Nuevatribuna . On October 30, we learned of the City Council's decision that, at the request of Vox, ordered the removal of the Largo Caballero and Indalecio Prieto license plates.
Reactions against this decision did not take long to arrive. Up to 250 historians denounced Vox's "lies" in a report and the granddaughter of the former president of the Government sent a letter AOL Email List to the far-right party demanding that this "outrage" be put to an end. Far from amending the decision, the council proceeded not only to remove the plaque but to completely destroy it, instead of sending it for safekeeping to the headquarters of the UGT or the PSOE or the Francisco Largo Caballero Foundation. This is what Sonia Largo refers to in this latest writing, a letter that Nuevatribuna has decided to reproduce in its entirety.
We take this opportunity to convey from the editorial office of this newspaper our solidarity and support for Sonia, the UGT and the entire socialist family, in the hope that this ultra attack on the figure of Largo Caballero will be repaired sooner rather than laterLetter from Sánchez to the PSOE militancy after the "shouting" over the agreement with Bildu for the approval of the At a time of great political tension in the socialist ranks due to the agreement with Bildu for the approval of public accounts, Pedro Sánchez has written to the PSOE militancy to convey the importance of approving the General State Budgets for for confront the crisis derived from the coronavirus pandemic. “We need progressive and national Budgets to protect our hardest hit compatriots (…) and to transform our economy,” he says in the letter.
