Even though a ton of you know about it.
Basically....
It's done.
IP: 208.64.26.210
Essentially it's a Minecraft MMORPG server.
This means you pick a class, level up, gain new skills, new equipment, more health, new abilities, can get quests, talk to NPC's, and get a sense of accomplishment when you finally settle down in that town you always wanted to buy, with heaps of gold around you as a fully level 120 of whatever class you got to (Technically level 30 of Tier 4...but 120 makes it sound better).
For a lot of the really cool stuff...you need to get the client that runs it. But it's just another Minecraft client. That lets us completely control the server, but add a TON of new shit for you.
The custom launcher: dev.bukkit.org/client-mods/spoutcraft/ (Click download on the right side!)
Examples:
-NPC skins
-GUI (Party health, pet health)
-Pet names
-Pet clothes (?)
-New types of pets (Right now we have wolves and spiders)
-New mobs (Hellhounds, giants, and other mobs are active in both the normal world and the Nether!)
-A forced texture pack (No hacking, and it'll fit the server lovely!)
-New skies and weather
-Background music, new sounds, ingame voice chat (?)
-Level Mastery Capes (You hit level 100 in any skill, such as Mining, Farming, Excavation, etc, and you get a cape to show it!)
-Better chat
-Less server lag (Including faster chunk renders)
-New ores and items
-And much more!
But yeah. Server's 24/7 at: netburst.co.uk
Still working on it, and when more people test it...it'll give me a ton of proper time to patch it.
Wiki is at the bottom (What I have so far)
Damn rain always ruins a photo session.
It really is a big city.
A bunch of you asked to see this. I aim to please. (Note that I only temporarily added them back in...I have one more fix to do before they work again)
Seriously.
Cheers to the following people for helping me in any of the testing stages, and the building phases!:
-ChiralCentre3366
-Kilgore101
-Steelhawk92
-Kayness
-CharacterClover
-RussianRabbit
-DesktopPriest
-Sin
-Zylaxyma
-Cerberus
-Tonberri/SyngleHelix
-Starr
-Penginz
And an extra thanks to Chiral/Charles for sitting with me for 3 hours as we worked out a class tree, lots of bug fixes, ideas, experience rates, and just about everything else!
Current features:
-Custom classes. Classes are limited to certain equipment (Tools/armour)
-Custom skills (Class-based skills). This means fireballs, lightning, healing, sneaking, high jumps, and summoning. Oh, and a lot more.
-Levelling (Both classes and certain skills...as in Mining, Excavation, Farming, etc. So even if your class can use an Iron Pickaxe, your level may not allow it.)
-Main spawn for new players, and everyone else (When you die) will respawn at the nearest Graveyard (Only one currently).
-NPC's that talk, walk around, and give quests.
-New mobs (Hellhounds, giants, Winter Wolves, Pig Zombies in the normal world, and Nether-variations of existing mobs).
-Party and Pet GUI's.
-Backpacks (More inventory).
-An economy.
-Bank accounts with interest.
-Global item banks (You store it in one bank, and can retrieve it at another).
-Gain money from killing mobs.
-Steal money from players (Only if you have a certain amount on you at the time).
-Buy towns, cities, and create nations with other players. Or alone. Whatever floats your boat.
-Multiple chat channels (Including local chat).
-Bleeding.
-Multiple new features with standard game mechanics (One being lava under a furnace powers it indefinitely).
-Bounty board.
-Trees grow back on their own.
-Better building (You can place just about anything on just about anything).
-New pets and pet names ("So-and-so's Pet"). You now have both wolves and spiders. Any type of wolf, any type of spider.
-Trade interface (Type "/trade <playername>" to ask someone, then "/trade accept" to do it. You need to be within 10 blocks of each other. Might shorten that...
-Better fishing. Can catch multiple fish, random armour, tools, seeds, and even pigs.
-Custom ingame calender (New month and day names).
-Seasons (Dry and Monsoon. Monsoon is a bitch of a season).
-Ability to make retractable bridges and portcullises without using commands. All redstone, baby.
-And more's coming soon enough! (Once I get off my lazy ass and fix a couple balancing issues).
Server is released!
